Kelly Brynteson is an abstract artist with a passion for creating large original artwork. Raised in a small town in MN, Kelly admired the natural beauty of the country around her. Taking in that beauty, she started oil painting those country landscapes on saw blades with her dad. At that young age, she caught the artist bug and her love for everything creative was born. Kelly painted off and on throughout high school and college. Following graduation, she created loft style paintings that she sold to collectors in the Minneapolis area. Kelly took a hiatus from the art world with a move to Austin, TX.
To meet the challenge, Kelly dusted off her paint brushes and her passion for painting was reborn. With excitement, Kelly called her dad to convince him to start painting again. His response, “someday”. Shortly after, her father unexpectedly passed away. It took every ounce of strength to pick up a paint brush for the first time. Through tears, Kelly called upon her dad to give her the strength to continue a commission that was in progress. She soon found that the more she painted, the better she felt. It became her grief therapy and provided healing, but more importantly, it was and still is, a lasting connection to her dad. While the "someday" did not come here on earth, Kelly can feel his presence, his guiding hands and love for painting. She knows he is with her as he paints in heaven.
Taking visual snapshots of color combinations that are mentally catalogued to use as inspiration for future paintings.
